The Ruta Maya Open Mic poetry reading is one of the longest running weekly open mics in Texas. Originally starting in 1995, thousands of poets from Central Texas, and all of the populated continents on Earth have performed on our stage.
After almost 1 year of hiatus while Ruta Maya changed locations, the Tuesday Open Mic returned in December of 2002 on the first Tuesday that the new location was open.
